Schreder Planetarium Welcome

A vision that started in the spring of 1979 when the Schreder Planetarium was opened as a multi-media science education facility. Now we embark on a journey of bringing the fascination of astronomy and science to a greater audience.

Committed to bring scientific, educational and informative programming to northern California for every age and the flexibility of a digital projection system, our programs are diverse ranging from scientific documentaries to science fiction stories filled with science facts to cultural programs that include historical sky lore. Each has a goal of inspiring scientific thought, spurring our next generation towards careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) or the viewer to just look up and marvel at our universe and our place in space.

Schreder Planetarium is open for school field trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays and offers public showings twice per month. Richard Glass is our Planetarium Educator and Science Consultant for these shows. He comes to us with extensive science background and we are pleased to have him serve on our staff.

We are currently accepting applications for our Summer Camps at Schreder Planetarium.

We are “Jet Fuel for the Imagination!”

Clear and Dark Skies,
